| About Bovey Castle |
Built as the private sporting estate of Viscount Hambledon, son of the businessman WH Smith, the historic Bovey Castle is located in the heart of the spectacular 368 square miles of the Dartmor National Park in Devon.
Today, privately owned, the Castle and Estate have undergone a complete reatoration reopening to guests and members to provide the magnificent resort found today.
The Castle itself has 65 luxuriously appointed bedrooms, staterooms and suites. Each has been individually styled with elegant simplicity. Grand reception rooms overlook the formal gardens, herbaceous walks and parkland beyond.
Dining at Bovey Castle can be informal in the Club House or more formal in the exquisite with its dramatic hand-painted Chinoise wall-coverings, modern English cooking and an extensive wine selection.
The Old Course is an 18-hole championship course, challenging and dramatically set. It was designed by the distinguished JF Abercromby in 1926 as a sister course to Gleneagles and Turnberry.
Numerous traditional pursuits can be enjoyed including twenty-five miles of fly-fishing, falconry, archery, croquet and horseriding. Children are kept entertained during the holidays with their own dedicated Club and activity programmes.
A specially designed holistic spa has been created and is complemented by the spectacular indoor and outdoor pools with stunning views of the valley. A number of exciting new specialist treatments are available from Elemis.

You will be greeted on arrival, your car whisked away by our concierge, while you are guided through to the morning room for refreshments.
